Hawaiian Chants and Rituals.

1. AUMAKUA, ALOHA, MAHALO (Higher Self, we send you love and give you thanks). An opening phrase for many prayers, chants and rituals.


2. AUMAKUA, MAI KA PO WAIOLA, HO'IKEA MAI I KE OLA (Higher Self, bring forth the waters of life and manifest these blessings). A blessing chant either used alone or at the end of a programming meditation or other ritual.


3. AMAMA or AMAMA, UA NOA, LELE WALE AKU LA. (Amama = Amen/So Be It; Ua Noa = it is complete; lele wale aku la = fly off and manifest).


4. E HO'OMAIKA'I I KA AI KEIA, I KA HALE KEIA, I KA PO'E MANU KEIA ( Blessed be this food, this house, and these people gathered here). A meal blessing used with (1) and (3). O KE AKA KA 'OUKOU, E KA AKUA,O KA 'I'O KA MAKOU (Yours is the essence, O God, ours is the material part). Another meal blessing.


5. BE MAIKA'I THE (desired quality or aspect) OF THIS (person, place or thing). A pidgin blessing useful any time and any place.


6. ALOHA-WAI-OLA...KAMAU! (Love, Wealth and Health...Forever) and ALOHA PAU'OLE ...KAMAU! (May our Love be everlasting...Forever). Two versions of a drinking toast and response. Kamau can also used alone.

These are the core words of the water sharing ceremony used by Huna International. The first two sets of words are spoken by the leader as he/she charges the water to be shared. The first toast of (6) is used as the water is poured. The leader then says the ENGLISH of the third set of words, and those present repeat the Hawaiian phrases as they are spoken. The ceremony is closed with the second phrase of (3)

WE ARE ONE WITH THE HEAVENS, WE ARE ONE WITH THE EARTH, WE ARE ONE WITH HUMANITY, WE ARE ONE WITH OUR SOURCE.

WITH THE BREATH OF LIFE, WITH THE POWER OF LIFE, WITH THE WATER OF LIFE , NOW LET US SHARE.

LET US BLESS THIS WATER: I KA WAI KANE ME KANALOA; HE WAI I PUNA, HE I WAI I INU, HE WAI I MANA HE WAI I OLA, E OLA NO!

N.B. Remember that the vowels are sounded as in Spanish and the mark (glottal stop) is like the sound before the English phrase "Oh-Oh".

A blessing that may be used befor a lomi lomi or healing session:

Auhea nā aumakua
nā Akua, nā Kahuna, nā Kupua
Aloha mai, hiki mai, hele mai
E ho'omaika'i
I ke kāne kēia (i ka wahine kēia/i nā kānaka kēia)
I`ke aloha, i`ke kala, i`ka malu
Aloha nõ, aloha nõ, aloha nõ

Listen up all the higher selves (god)
Gods and goddesses, masters, shaman
Come with love, come quickly, come here
Bring blessings
To this man (to this woman/to this human)
Blessings of love, of freedom, of peace
Of confidence, of harmony
Love indeed (for the being on the table)
Love indeed (for anybody helping you)
Love indeed (for the spirit helpers)
